OG VOLLEYBALL CLUB: TRYOUT REGISTRATION

Tryouts registration will close on Friday, October 30th (at 12pm ET) so that we have time to prepare everything. According to the CHRVA open tryout period, team offers will remain valid until 10pm on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Please follow all the steps to register prior to arriving at the facility to save time and stress on tryout day. If after reading this page, you have questions about the tryout registration process, please reach out to:

There are 4 steps to register for tryouts. Please scroll through this whole page to see all 4 steps.

• USA Volleyball uses the SportsEngine system. You can look at the CHRVA membership page for further information.
• To register with USAV and CHRVA, decide if you will do a full season membership or just a tryout membership, then select the appropriate option based on your age on July 1, 2027:

OPTION A: FULL SEASON MEMBERSHIP

• Cost: $60
• Once your full membership is purchased, you will be set for the season.
• Ages 9-17 click here
• You will be required to complete the SafeSport (online $0 cost) class prior to tryouts.
• If the link above does not work, navigate to the CHRVA membership page and look for the “regular juniors” membership based on age.

OPTION B: TRYOUT ONLY MEMBERSHIP

• Cost: $25 (purchases a 10-day tryout membership. Be sure to choose the dates that cover the Old Georgetown tryout period for your age group).
• If you make a team and decide to play, your membership will need to be upgraded (+$35) to a full-time membership prior to starting practices.

• $50 — if you register by 10/4/2026 11:59pm
• $60 — if you register starting 10/5/2026 12:00am
• The tryout fee is non-refundable. It pays for the administration of tryouts: facility rental, insurance, coaches, etc.
• If you attend multiple age groups for tryouts, you only pay one tryout registration fee. In the registration form you will tell us which age group(s) tryouts you plan to attend.

PRIOR TO REGISTERING, YOU WILL NEED:

• An electronic copy of your birth certificate to upload to our system (take a picture with your phone/tablet prior to registration).
• A profile picture (save a picture on your phone/tablet prior to registration).
• Your medical insurance information.
• Your USAV membership number, generated in Step #1 above.
• Pay the tryout fee at Old Georgetown Tryouts 2027 

• USAV Medical Form
• Birth Certificate and profile photo
• Link to upload documents will appear in the thank you email after registration. If it does not, contact us at jessica.martz@ogvbc.org

• All tryouts are held at Bethesda Chevy-Chase High School in Bethesda, MD.
• There will be no walk-ins. You must register online ahead of time.
• Payment is required at registration time. We will not be accepting any money on site.
• Arrive 15-30 minutes early for check-in and height and standing reach measurement.

BRING A PARENT

• A parent must attend tryouts with you. This is to ensure all documentation and registrations are complete, as players cannot complete this information on their own. Due to gym capacity, parents will not be allowed to stay and watch tryouts.

BRING THIS DOCUMENTATION:

• *** Copy of your USAV/CHRVA registration card (generated from Step #1 above. Your player only has one card, not two separate).
  Note: Digital/print instructions referenced via SportsEngine/CHRVA portal; screenshot your card and save it on your phone OR print it out.

BRING YOUR VOLLEYBALL GEAR:

• Wear athletic clothes and shoes
• Knee pads are not required, but wear them if you would like
• Bring a water bottle (check if water fountain/refills are available on-site)
• Any ankle braces, etc. you wear while playing
• Hand sanitizer, wipes (all optional)
• A bag to keep your personal items in while playing
