Steve Easton joins the Old Georgetown Volleyball Club leadership team as a veteran advocate and academic leader, bringing a wealth of experience in governance and organizational strategy. A "mostly retired" trial lawyer and law professor, Steve most recently served as the President of Dickinson State University. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing a diverse collegiate athletic program, including volleyball. His leadership was anchored in Integrity, ensuring that every program under his watch operated with the highest ethical standards and a commitment to fair play—principles he now brings to the OGVBC Board.

Steve’s personal connection to sports is rooted in his own college days playing football, baseball, and golf. While he humorously notes he was never the star athlete, he credits those years with teaching him the Resilience required to navigate a high-level legal career. He is a firm believer in Growth, recognizing that the true value of a sports program is measured by the incremental progress of its athletes. He understands that the "grind" of practice and the lessons of defeat are essential for building the character that OGVBC strives to instill in its players.

Family and Teamwork are at the heart of Steve’s perspective. He and his wife, Marivern, raised three children who were active in sports, arts, and music, including two sons who became collegiate athletes at the D1 and NAIA levels. Having navigated the landscape of elite youth sports as a parent, Steve is dedicated to fostering an environment where family support and institutional discipline go hand-in-hand. He is passionate about ensuring OGVBC remains a place where young women can clear high bars—even if, by his own admission, he set his own athletic bar a bit lower than his children did!

Paula Pryor serves as Secretary of OGVBC, bringing deep experience in people leadership, governance, and culture-building to the organization. As the Chief Human Resources Officer of Walker & Dunlop, Inc., a publicly traded commercial real estate finance firm, Paula has spent her career helping individuals and organizations grow with intention, integrity, and resilience—values that align perfectly with OGVBC’s GRIT philosophy.

Paula chose to join OGVBC because of the profound impact the program—and Coach Jess —had on her daughter at a formative age. Beginning at age 11, her daughter played under Coach Jess for two seasons, where she not only developed as an athlete but grew in confidence, accountability, and personal standards. Seeing a coach intentionally nurture both skill and character cemented Paula’s belief in the OGVBC mission.

What Paula believes truly sets OGVBC apart is its commitment to developing the whole person, not just the athlete. The club’s emphasis on Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Teamwork reflects what sports should be at their best: a supportive, fun environment that teaches positive life lessons and fosters strong character alongside competitive play.

Beyond OGVBC, Paula has served on several nonprofit boards, including The Woods Academy and Leadership Women—an organization dedicated to helping women learn, lead, and leave a legacy by strengthening leadership skills and driving positive change. Above all, Paula is a devoted mother of three.

Through her work with the club, Paula hopes that OGVBC athletes leave not only as better volleyball players, but as more confident, capable, and well-rounded young women who understand the power of teamwork, perseverance, and self-belief.

As Treasurer of OGVBC, Lex oversees the financial operations that keep our club running smoothly, supporting our mission to develop talented athletes and build a strong volleyball community in Bethesda, Maryland.

Lex joined OGVBC with an enthusiastic "YES!!!" when her teammate and lifelong friend, Jess, invited Lex to join. Her passion for the club was contagious, and Lex knew right away it was the perfect place to get involved.

"What makes OGVBC truly stand out is that it was founded and led by a strong woman with incredible GRIT." That foundation of determination, friendship, and excellence drives everything we do.

Outside of OGVBC, Lex's life revolves around volleyball; She is a dedicated coach, competitive player, and proud "volleyball mom." When she's not on the court or the sidelines, Lex works as a Financial Planner at Krozel Capital, where she help clients plan, invest, and thrive. This blend of hands-on sports experience and professional financial expertise makes her a natural fit for managing the club’s treasury and supporting its long-term success.

Having coached multiple sports over the years, Lex loves nothing more than watching players develop new skills, gain confidence, and grow both on and off the court. Whether it’s mastering a serve, improving teamwork, or simply falling in love with the game, those "aha" moments are what keep her coming back.

Through OGVBC, Lex hopes our athletes gain more than just volleyball skills. She wants them to develop a true love for the game, form lifelong friendships, and one day pay it forward by inspiring the next generation of players—just as we have been inspired.

Proud to be part of the OGVBC Family!
